  • Classix II crossover components from DIY sound group vs original list

I am wanting to a set of Classix II speakers, while making a list of the crossover parts, I came up with 20 pieces to be purchased going off of Pauls list.
    the list I have:
BUT, from what I see at DIY I only come up with 18 pieces for both speakers

Am I seeing something or missing something?

Your PE list is missing the port tubes.

They are there, just not showing it. I was more concerned with the crossover list.

Paul's schematic has three resistors, the photo from DIYsoundgroup has 2. Paul may have updated the XO along the way. Alternatively, the photo may be missing a resistor. I wouldn't worry about ordering from DIYsoundgroup. They are beyond excellent for support. You will get the components you need.

I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now.

I guess I will have to ask DIY about it

Go to Paul's web-site www.undefinition/diy and go by HIS parts list. I added a brace just above the woofer on my build (all made in my dust-bin shop!) and corner blocks (and screws into the front of the brace) for magnets to hold my grilles on. They get pretty hefty, but as PC says, they are very good at almost anything you throw at them. My build of the late Lou C.'s "Veepers" monitors make poor recordings sound really bad. Truly accurate monitor's get old quickly playing typical MP3 files. Garbage in-garbage out. FWIW, I used a 1 1/2" radius round-over bit on my baffles on both.
Enjoy the build and your ClassixII's. Invite your friends over and have them bring their $600/pr speakers to A/B blind test with the ClassixII's. You'll both be impressed.

I just forgot to put one resistor in the photo. It would come with the kit though.
