  • Apology to Blair and TC

Wow, I asked for that one, didn't I? Hey, I don't know what came over me, but I was pretty nasty to TC and Blair. Totally uncalled for on my part. You guys are right, either ignore the post, or post something helpful. Mine were neither useful, nor helpful. Man, I acted like someone on the rag. Just a stressful week, but no excuse there. Gentlemen, my sincere apologies for those venomous posts...

Fully Accepted: We all enjoy the hobby, and try to take it for what it is worth. Thank you.

I would say it's just a temperature related thing, but that could probably touch off another war with the "global warming experts". At least it's not "Man holds off swat team with router and long extension cord". Maybe it's just something in the air.

As far as high end speakers go, I like to use them as a gauge for what sounds good (or looks good) when you remove money from the equation, what theory is being applied in the design, and what I can adapt to my own projects. After all, if you're going to copy from other's ideas, at least emulate the good stuff, DIY or commercial. That's also why I don't understand the rush to acquire Best Buy's cast offs (Insignias?) or White Van speakers. Why try to make chicken salad out of chicken $h1t? (Just one of those euphemisms I though I would share with everyone.)

I haven't joined the Insignia craze and won't. But sometimes it is fun to see just how good you can make that chicken guano sound for very little money. If I have a claim to fame (big if), that is mine. Partially that is because I am cheap, but also I like to make inexpensive speakers that sound better than anything someone could buy for the same money as gifts. Have done quite a few of those.

              Thank you Hong

              Hong,

Thanks for taking the time to post this. Only a true gentleman would make the effort and it is appreciated. I am sure that I could have chosen my words more wisely as well. If I offended you (or any others for that matter) I apologize as well.

I don't think you were nasty and I'm sure there are life-events that affect us all. The hard thing is trying to get inflection off of typed words on a computer.

Regardless, thank you and I look forward to spirited discussion moving forward!

              T.C.

Thanks, TC. Hey, when it's my fault, it's my fault. Got to own up to my own mistakes. I appreciate the fact that you take the time to point them out to me.

                Best,
