Hey Dan. Have you had a chance to hear that new N26 in a wave guide yet? Let me know what you think.

    Thanks for the reply, Dan!
On the second option - do you mean the splitter in the SA240 plate-amp?
E.g. My receiver powered output to the SA240 high-power input -> SA240 high power output to the crossover input for the MTM section, correct?
BTW, you mentioned somewhere that you're going to try a different stereo plate-amp for this project, did you have a chance to do it?

    Hi Dan,
I'm interested in building your HOSS design and I'm relatively new to speaker building. Do you mind me asking a few questions?
I can't quite work out how did you connect bass drivers, the plate amp, and the crossover for MTM? Was it in parallel - output from my amp to both crossover and plate amp?

Dan, I have Arrum Cantus GS2i and G3's if you want to see/hear them to consider for your project.
  6. There is not. You might post a note that you are looking for some. Maybe someone out there has a few from the closeout that they have not ended up using. There are a number of drivers that might work, but it would take a new measurements and crossover design. I'm not sure you can get that tweeter anymore either.

Dan - I have a friend who is a master woodworking craftsman. the SuroundSounds design caught his eye. Is there a replacement for the HiVi B3A-B buyout?

    Hi Dan,
I was wondering how choose a driver for a OB design. When I look online at OB design info it seems like people use anything they want, as far as I can tell. But it seems to me that there are so many ways to build a driver that some might be better than others in this situation. Any ideas? Thank you for your assistance.

hy i think i read on your project showcase that you had pdf files on the hoss build, i am curroius to see how you sqeezed a TL in the box. i may also try and be a copycat if its ok with you.
  10. Hi Jim,
Sorry, but I can't ive you an estimate as I simply don't recall. I built them in the spring-summer of 2007. I did the mdf build of one as a prototype, then did a lot of testing, crossover design and listening, voicing, etc. When I was convinced it was going to work, I buil the second box. Then I worked on the crossover some more using the pair. Then I finally went back and installed the veneer and did the paint and finishing. I do recall the the veneer, paint and finish took me at least a month, probably more. That was probably what took the longest. The main reason for that was the fact that Santos Rosewood is an oily veneer and I was not aware of that, so I had to deal with the oild bleeding through, etc.
I'm sorry I can't give you a more specific answer. My recollection is that they were not a particularly hard build as compared to some of my other speakers.
