Thanks Lou. I've read many of your posts in regards to veneering. You have been a great help!
  2. About 10 minutes. I'd guess. I use my knife and trim immediately after I get done with the panel. I use a rubber mallet to make sure the edges are firmly stuck. I use a sanding block for the final edge. I think I'd wrap/layout a couple layers of tape with a router and leave it a little proud, then sand. Just put contact cement on the panels you are working -- not the whole box. You'll never get all the little bits off.

    Lou,
I'm about to venture into my first veneer project and have a question for you. I bought the Titan DX contact cement and paperbacked maple veneer from veneersupplies. After I adhere and scrape my first panel, how long do I have to wait before going after it with a flush trim bit? I am doing the small Overnight Sensation cabnets. Thanks!
  4. The Peerless are a good buy. They are low on sensitivity, definitely "in home". But for your hangar, you're gonna need something big and sensitive for serious SPL. I have some ideas for you. (Similar to Paul's Tarkus or my ARLO or something from Bill Fitzmaurice. (A pair of DR-200's & a Table Tuba maybe) You guys would be welcome anytime as I work from home.

Now, I'm looking at possibly having back surgery, so my build time may be severely limited too. At least my shop has A/C!

    Lou,
Looks like we'll have to hurry, if the build season ends with the arrival of hot weather. I've lived here for a long, long time, so I try to ignore the heat. Haven't had too much success with that, but I do okay in the shade, uh, with a fan.

Regarding coming down to see you, I'd like to do that. I think Mark Miller would like to come along too, if we can arrange it. I'm retired, so any day of the week is doable for me. I think Mark has odd days off. Let me know what might work for you..

Peerless 831735 buyouts -- I've been following several threads, including yours where you talk about your Veepers, and I'd kind of like to build something someday with Peerless drivers, especially after hearing your's in Tucson. What I'm wondering is, do you think I should grab a couple of the 735's? They don't seem to be moving very fast..

Be sure and let me know when you're likely to be in the Phoenix area.

By the way, do you like cars? The kind of stuff you see at Barrett Jackson? Might have an interesting tour for you if you do..

  7. John,
I'd have to dig stuff out. Right now is not a good time. I'm heading out for my 4th cancer operation followed by radiation. Get back to me in April or so.

Lou, johnastockman let me know to contact you about maybe having 4 of the woofers used in the Azurites as i have the tweeter to go with them. If you have 4 and are willing to part with them please drop me a note and we can work out the details as far as Pay Pal or straight money order or whatever you decide? Thank You.

Thanks, Lou! I know a few folks that would love to have a pair of the Azurites. Once I get this next pair done, I'll check your site to see if you have any left.
