    Maybe next year....

  2. Hey Wolf,
I'll let my son know about the "jams" you mentioned. Unfortunately, I won't make it to the InDIYana. Work issues: That same week I'll be headed to the Talladega races. I'm part of a military unit that monitors all large scale happenings for any bad guys. We do air monitoring, etc. I'm going to help the unit from Alabama. Too bad I'm not a NASCAR fan. I'll have an all-access pass, so maybe I'll come back a fan.
Anyway, I hope all goes well for you guys.
    Talk more later.
    Mike

I didn't see your reply til just now, so sorry. It's supposed to go in my profile section so I see it, anyway...

Kathy Trocolli is well-recorded in general.
Third Day's stuff is a little 'hissy' but it's the Nashville sound.
Scott Q used a Jaci Velasquez cut at Iowa one year, but I'm unfamiliar with it.
Jeff B. uses some Crystal Lewis to voice a lot of the time.

You are right about a lot of it not being as well recorded.

If he likes 'jams', tell him about 'Austrian Death Machine' and 'Becoming the Archetype', and get him a subscription to HM magazine. I do like a lot of Christian Metal!

You still planning on making it in a couple weeks?
    Wolf
  4. Hey Wolf,
My son is a Christian Metal fan. He and his son call it "jams." They like to listen to "jams" in the car together doing Dad and son stuff. I like Third Day, Kutless, and the like. Have you found any Christian music that seems to be recorded well? As much as I like Christian music, most of it doesn't seem to have the same sound quality as some other music. I think one exception would be Toby Mac's last CD.
Well, I'm on to my other speaker projects: Fonken 127 and then the "Indignia 2" group buy project from AudioKarma. I finished a Recession Buster kit from Madisound, used their suggested box, and it's OK. I need to play it more since it's only got about 3 or 4 hours on it. I might move it to a BIB if I don't hear some inprovement in it after a few more hours. I did a BIB with a 5 inch aluminum FR from MCM, and a couple of old piezo horns. I'm pretty happy with them, considering it cost me about $40, including the wood.
    Take care,
    Mike

I'm glad you're thrilled with them, Mike! I remember you and your project, and I still have the pictures you sent. I must say, the bass is quite good for a 4" driver in those cabinets. I need to set mine up and listen to them again. I've had the Mn-14, Canvas, and Scandivifias in rotation as of late. I'm glad I could help someone with a fairly easy first project.

I like Third Day, but not as much as my wife. I'm more of the Living Sacrifice, Soul Embraced, Klank, Circle of Dust, and Paramaecium type. Great Christian metal!
    Take it easy!
    Wolf
