    Hello tom.

Wolf directed me towards you in the questions I have on DVC-woofer measuring and using in systems.

Please could you direct me towards any info that you might like to share on this topic?

    Regards//lasse

If your iron core has screw holes you could increase its induction by adding additional ferrous mass.
  3. I couldn't get the Vifa to sound quite right, but haven't messed much with it lately. I will say that the Aura paired with a SEAS 27TDC and the basic AR xover (with a somewhat higher value resistor) sounds pretty darn good. It takes on a spacial quality that I have rarely heard in my room. Now this is with the SEAS just sitting up on top of the cabinet. Things will likely change once it's mounted on the baffle. I really need to build some .5 cu. foot cabinets and a proper baffle cut for a 104mm tweeter. At 19L, a 2.7mH P-core gives a bit too much BSC, but a 2mH iron core is not quite enough in my room. I'm also going to have to order some 2.5mH coils to unwind a bit and see if I can find the magic number. I have not tried it capless yet. That's a little too daring for me at this point, since I'm still learning about how pieces of a series crossover interact. I agree that this Aura driver is well worth the effort. Even if Zaph were to measure this one, I'm not sure if I even want to see what the distortion graph looks like....

I read with interest your posts re the aura driver and the acoustic reality crossover. Are you still using the vifa tweeter bc25sg15-4? Capped or capless? How do you like what you hear? What values have you ended up with? For tweaking the coil value it occurred to me that if you're starting with an air core inductor you can add various mass of steel core to get different inductances without buying a whole sh*tload of coils. I ve got 2 pair of each of these drivers and despite other unfinished projects this is the one I can't stop thinking about.
