Thanks for the info i will build them that way for sure and i will let you know the out come thanks so much this will be my first build im very excited cant wait ordering all parts and test them out .
  2. I recommend you build the Stentorians 5" to 6" taller than my drawing to get the bottom woofer away from the floor. The added volume the woofer enclosure is a good thing. I'd say just build them first and see what you think.

IM going to do the stentorians and had a couple of questions i saw enterprise1 build i was woudering in his build did the extra 5" he added for the stand did that change the crossover specs or can i just use the same crossover for this build with the 5" added also if i wanted to up the speakers to a higher level what would you recommend or should i build these first and see what they do before i go changing your wonderful design .

Hey Curt, new member and big fan! I've just built your tritrix mtm tl's.. and love them! Waiting on the veneer to show up to finish! I've just ordered another kit minus the cabs to build a center and have the parts (minus a tweeter, which is apparantely discontinued?) to do the MT version. I've also ordered the diff xo components for these guys and here is my question... I seem to recall a post you had about changing component values for different placement of these guys (will be using mtm tls as mains and mt's as surrounds) and wondered if it would make much/any difference. Also, I gathered that the mt cabs were all 3/4" MDF, but in the diagram, the measurements led me to believe it was 1/2". Could you clarify? Thanks a bunch! Chris
  5. Paul! Good to hear from you, my friend! What's been happening? Basically the sos here. Had some issues with double vision, but its been getting some better as of late. Its hard to driver when you see two roads... ;^)

    Talk to you soon !

Hi curt how have you been?
  7. I suspect the tuning doesn't change appreciably, but the port output is reduced. I'd run this one past Paul K, as he has MJK's software and could easily model this for you.

    Thank you,
It is always good when you have some small confirmation of your sanity. The length stayed the same? Have you noticed any method for discovering an amount of reduction for each design? Please elaborate as much as possible. Feel free to post on the proposed TL thread I have going.

    Thanks again,
  9. You are correct. I 'cheated' on the enclosure volume to get a reasonable sized cabinet. -This is not uncommon, and TL's seem to tolerate this better than a conventional vented design.
If you model the Seas Thor design by Joe D. Appolito, you will find he reduced the cab volume by half as well.

I have used the TL table method to calculate the enclosure dimensions for Tritrix / Triune enclosure so that I could ensure my calculations were correct. I used SL/SO = 4/(14.25-1.5) to see if dimensions similar to what you used would be generated. And while the dimensions for Tritrix were very close to those of the Triune the areas of SL and SO were roughly twice as large as the actual cabinet. Is this something you experienced when using the table method, or do I have a mistake? This is how I entered the data. Thanks in advance.
