I too was planning to build a 3 way tower speaker using Wavecor drivers as I can get the locally (in India).

Wavecor does not make a 8" woofer (they make a 8" subwoofer) so I intended to use three 4 ohm WF182BD03 woofers in series for the bass (up to 250Hz) and a single WF152BD04 for the midrange and a single TW030WA07 tweeter. The speaker would look like the Foal Chorus 836 below.

Since the tower speakers will also double as the front speakers of a 5.1/7.2 system I hope to use the WF152BD03 in a MTM for the center and use the WF120BD04 for the rear (the tweeters for all speakers will be the TW030WA07).

However when I discussed this speaker on another fourm I was advised to use the SW182BD subwoofer instead of the WF182BD woofer.

Since you have used Wavecor drivers how are the WF182BD, WF152BD, and WF120BD drivers? Does my initial plan make sense or should I use the SW182BD subwoofers instead of the WF182BD woofer?

Is the WF152 woofer capable of mating with 3 WF182 woofers? I figured by limiting the WF152 to 250Hz+ it will not get so stressed and should do well as a midrange.

My reason to use three 4 ohm woofers in series instead of three 8 ohm woofers in parallel was becuase most AVR (Marantz 6006, Denon 3312Ci, Pioneer LX75 etc..) cannot dump current required by low impedance loudspeakers. Such AVRs would find 12 ohms easier than 2.8 ohms.

If you have used the WF182 what would be the best alignment? Can it be used in a TL like the Temperance III?
