  1. I tend to model my drivers in PCD rather than go with text book crossovers. One thing to note is many planars and ribbons have a flat impedance which will allow a text book crossover to be used.

by Brewski on 11-14-2010 at 09:53 PM
The Ruinations are completed and I want to thank the following people for their assistance during the project.

Wolf - for his help with the PCD sims we'd bounced around and a starting point for the 2.5 way crossover to tweak from.

DLR - for hosting DIYNE and providing feedback on adding BBC dip while they were there.

Mzisserson -for providing feedback at DIYNE that was incorporated and verification of the final crossover.

Ruination Part 2

by Brewski on 06-24-2010 at 02:12 PM
The inductor I was waiting on arrived and so I was able to get the speakers fired up again on 06/23/10. My initial impression, from about 5 hours of listening last night, is that they sound very good. I modeled the speakers at 50% BSC which seems to work well for my living room. I have the speakers

Ruination Project part 1

by Brewski on 06-17-2010 at 10:33 AM
The Ruination project started life as a pair of Advent Laureate speakers that were found on craigslist for $35 dollars. Initially I
