They look fun to mess with. Like maybe sticking them to my neighbors window and pretending to be God talking to them. . . :-)

    LOL. Never thought of that...

Yes, I have used them a couple times for the speakers in the headrest of Miatas. Absolutely amazing sound with seat shaking bass.

I have heard of people using them as panel speakers with foam-core material. Anything lightweight and rigid makes a good material for these.

There's a trick we used to do. I believe it worked best with aluminum wire screens, but anyway....

Bend a straight pin into a simple hook. Tie a black thread to the head of the pin. Hook the pin into a window screen. Unreel the thread to a place where you can hide, but the thread must not touch anything. Pull the thread tight, and drag a barely moist rag across the thread, towards the window. The whole screen moans, driving occupants crazy.

I haven't bought these yet but- does anyone know of good/reasonable sources for these foam-core materials. And would materials like kevlar or nomex be worth the effort/cost? Is there any good sources of info on how shape, size thickness of panel affects the sound? Thanks -Mark
Btw-i'm using the little 2watt si-amp with the flat panel speakers for the computer- quite an interesting sound.

    Default cattywampus..........

When I was a kid my dad told me how to make a "cattywampus". Take a five gallon thin metal can like a christmas popcorn can, poke a hole in the bottom, stick a length of fishing line through the hole and tie it to a nut or washer inside the can. To "play" it sit down and hold the can out with your feet on the bottom edges of the can. Pull the string tight and slowly draw rosin over the string. This will make really loud, really obnoxious sounds blast out the open end of the can. I reccomend that you don't tell your small children how to do this.
