Amp power

Have built a 3 cubit foot ported sub with the Dayton DVC 12" driver. First project. I would like to install a plate amplifier, but I am confused on what type, and how much power is needed to push the driver. Currently running sub with both channels of an old Kenwood power amp.

well if you looking at this sub

then the pe500watt would be good just dont get crazy with the gain knob... if price is a factor then the pe240watt amp. If you dont care where you buy it from there is good things about the apex senior amp 350watt with +3 or was it +6 db@30hz. good price on it too.
