speakers
I can't afford to spend a lot on speakers but appreciate good clear sound. I have a pair of Advents, S/N U34803, with damaged speaker surrounds. Are these speakers worth repairing, and is the kit to do this difficult to apply successfully? Also, I'm not sure what to measure; the hole in the fiber ring is about 9", the outer diameter of the fiber is 11-3/4". Thanks

Re: speakers
It sounds like you need the 260-950 kit. The PE support tech folks on the 800 number will insure you choose the correct one. Replacing them is not hard to do, just requires a little hand/eye coordination.
The advents still have a good following, and were an excellent speaker in their day. While I believe there are currently better designs out there, I think one could do a lot worse than rescuing these speakers. If you ever wanted to upgrade to a different speaker I would think they would be very saleable, so you should be ahead either way.
