Thread: Sub Woofers

    Default Sub Woofers

This is a new post that is a contenuation of the last post from yesterday.

Any ways im jsut looking for a 12" sub that could keep up with the datyaton DC220 8" driver. Because i plan to build a speaker using these drivers to later replace my BR-1's i have now. This sub need to be able to go low enough to make an impressive intrance for a 12" sub. I want it to be able to rival other prebuilt home theater 12" subs and yet not be extreamly expensive either because i really dont make much money now so saving takes a while.

Default Before asking for sub recommendation...

try to come up with some objective requirements. The 3 key requirements are:

    1) How much can you afford (total cost including the amp)?
    2) How loud do you want it to play (in terms of spl)?
    3) How big of enclosure can you tolerate (in terms of ft^3)?

PE sells so many subs that works well in different applications, it will be difficult to narrow it down, unless you have some clear objective.

3 cf vented box (about a 19" od cube).
For good AND cheap, the Dayton 12" shielded DVC with the 100 watt amp.
For mid level, the 12" Quatro w/240 w amp.
    Bigger budget = 12" DVC (non-shielded).
Big ca$h. Big sub. Same amp, same box (but sealed) with 15" Quatro.
