    Default Oooooh my head hurts!

Well I'm finally home and I can say I survived the weekend pretty much in one piece. I'm not sure why my head is pounding right now. Either the beer or Bobby's horn sub. We learned later that at least one complaint was made about our doings out in the parking lot. This is what happens when a bunch of speaker nuts congregate. Bobby, my hat is off to you man. That was so much fun and it was technically illegal! I love it!!! I hope you made it home okay.

I want to thank Darren and PE first and foremost for hosting such a fun event. I learned so much that it could be a contributing factor in this headache. Thanks go to ChrisM for being the spin-meister supreme and handling the job very well.

Darren's massive arrays are just killing me by begging me to build them someday. Someday far in the future!!! There were so many great sounding (and great looking, especially Chad's Olives) designs present that I am hard pressed to say I disliked any of them. Paul K's TriLangles just stood out though. I really like the sound they put out. Very high quality build too.

Jim Griffin is worthy of the title "The Man!!!" The arrays are just totally killer. Thank you for the time afforded to me while doing the set-up. Those few hours made the entire weekend worthwhile.

It was great to meet everyone and hang out. Here's to a great time this year and for many years to come. And remember folks, it's only a woman.....

Wait, I better be nice to Matt. There is that picture from our dinner after all....

    BeakSh*t.

Yup, I agree. This year was the one for immaculately finished speakers - both cosmetically and sonically. The 'innovations' were a nice touch too - dual reflex, multiple cabinets and tiny rockin' speakers.

I was equally impressed with Dylan Matlow's Mitsubishi Lancer. I'm glad he brought his car because it was a treat to listen to a well imaging system. The bass was among the cleanest in-car I've heard, with little rear-wandering. The most impressive part, IMO, was the fact that NO EQ was used in the system. I mean, sure, there were a few nitpicks I had, but it wasn't a surprise to Dylan. (No comment on the hot glue install, however...) I'm glad that there is another real car audio "pair of ears" out there. I was starting to feel like every car audio guy had the technical capability of a sweaty gym sock. Thanks, Dylan!

Following an evening/weekend of being stupid, tylenol, or any of the related generics, should be the _last thing_ you should take. They've got a significant degree of liver toxicity, which, combined with alcohol or the afteraffects, can prove to be damaging.

Aspirin, if you an tolerate the GI and platelet aggregation problems, is probably your best choice. That, and gatorade.

    Default Ahh.. I'm not worried

The brain is gonna give out long before the liver. Serve it up with some fava beans and a nice chianti.

Anyway, all I could find was some outdated aspirin so I'm just gonna tough it out. Things are feeling better now that I have some dinner in me. I'm just thankful I didn't partake of the tequila. Now that's just stooooooopid. Seeing how I haven't had a stupid weekend in a very long time, I think I was a bit overdue. I had fun and no one got an eye put out.

    Glad you feel that way.

In the Bunker, I've got four kinds of vodka, two Irish, about 8-10 bourbons, a coupla of tequillas, some brandy, etc., etc... Keg this time is Bud Select.

And the Big Cans o' Whoopass. Bring that hangover on...

Dude...and you are worried about the tylenol?

i think you'll pickle your liver sooner with the alcohol rather than tylenol. ...not that you are wrong about the toxicities.

Shawn, don't take too much tylenol, and do take aspirin w/ food if you take it

Thanks again, Shawn, for the compliments on my TriLangles. It took me several weeks to settle on the attenuation for midrange and tweeter. I wasn't sure they would ever sound very good, but with the tweaking and break-in, I finally became happy with them.

Actually, you take someone who's just gotten sombreroed, and you feed him tylenol, that compounds the damage. If you tried to get tylenol approved by the FDA today, they'd nuke it on the liver tox... If you tried to get aspirin approved, the GI problems would deep-six it.

Guess what industry I work in...

I prescribe this stuff every day. So i do understand what you are saying. If they tried to get FDA aproval on acrylic dentures today it wouldn't work etc etc we could go down the line of stuff thats on the market that shoudln't be, or at least we need to be more careful with. Thats why meds are tools, to be used appropriately. I don't like meds, but since i cause people pain all day.... i need to prescribe them. Guess what business i'm in

    EEEEWWWW!

Let's see... 10mg diazepam just to get me in the door... Opioids are my friend too. I wanna be on another planet...

Lemme tell you - it really hacked me off when when the FDA pulled valdecoxib... My knees would like to go discuss politics with'em.

And, by the way, you don't cause people pain - you fix stuff. It just sorta hurts, as opposed to really *(^*()&^ hurts, while you do it. Okay?

people don't look at it like this though...they think i cause them pain...rather than looking at me as someone who's job it is to help them, and i have to hurt them to help them get out of pain... its a nasty place to be for me... but its my calling, and once in a while someone smiles at me
