Default Small studio speaker choice

I am looking to set up a small home recording studio.

The room I am setting it up in is around 9 x 9.

Can anyone give me some advice as to what DIY designs might be suitable for this type of application in this size room.

Obviously I am looking for quite a flat response with the speakers.

    Any suggestions would be welcome.

    Thanks

    Murray

I think the Showcase has a Vance Dickason designed monitor as one of the older projects.

Yes i had seen that unfortunately i can't seem to get hold of the woofer that is in that design.

Does anyone know what would be the equivilent to the Scan-Speak 18W8545K Woofer?

Or any where that still sells them?

Consider the Cryolites as well. chrisM's Cryolite's were heard at the DAayton DIY this year and I think they would make great monitors for a smallish room such as yours.

If those are too big, then consider the HT1 offering from www.RAWacoustics.ca backed up by a small powered sub. This would indeed be an excellent combo for your application.
