Default Anyone not like the Hypex amps? Is there a kit?

I'm new amp construction but it has always been something that interested me. There seems to be a lot of talk about the Hypex amps and a lot of interest in complete kits (complete with an emphasis instructions).

Does anyone have anyhting bad to say about the Hypex stuff? I thought I'd ask to see if there should be anything else I should be looking at.

Are the Hypex modules considered "chip amps".

Does anyone offer a complete kit using these modules yet? Does anyone know of any plans to do so?

    Thanks,
    Aaron

Nothing bad I've heard of. All good, but recognise that these are posted from folks who have bought and built them, so they may possibly be somewhat biased.

You can treat them that way as they only require +/- voltage, gnd, and signal, but they are really amplifier modules with many components rather than a chip. Their big advantage IMO, it their significantly higher power output.

No, well, sort of. All the 'sub modules', power supply, transformer, slow in circuit, etc, are all available from Hypex. You still have to lay out and wire them together properly, which does require a modicum of knowledge, including how to properly ameliorate any ultrasonic noise of the PWM design.

diycable.com offers Hypex amp parts and will build turnkey amps. Not cheap but you could likely get some support from them if you buy parts through them.
