Fun with PE BuyOuts! *PIC*

Perusing the new flyer I came across the Goldwood 12" Woofers
<A HREF="http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshow...number=299-738">http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshow...number=299-738</A>
and liking that red surround I quickly modeled it in WinIsd. To my amazement it mirrored my 15" Aluminum woofer which has a 1.44 Qts.
White - 1 15" Aluminum Woofer
Yellow - 1 Goldwood 12" Woofer
Lt. Blue - 2 12" Goldwood's
Green - 2 15" Aluminum Woofer's
Both sets modeled in a 90 & 180 Litre box
3.178 cu. ft & 6.357 cu. ft.
Almost the same size as Brian Bunge's box over at;

The fun part is having a Sealed box model like a 4th or 6th Order Bandpass box;

Actual measurements with a db meter of the 1 - 15" Aluminum Woofer in a 90 litre box hooked up to a 240 watt plate amp.
To confirm the box size I modelled it in UniBox;

OK, now back to Bunge's box - it need a couple mids and a tweet.

This tweet was selected because of the advert that stated it was used in classic high end speakers of the 70's and early 80's. I believe they're referring it to the DCM Time Windows that used a Philips' tweet. I remember them well. Visiting a friends house who had a pair back then I was surprised how good they sounded. Boy did I want a pair - until I heard what they cost. I was floored.
Now, maybe I can somewhat revisit the past and add a little kick to the bass.
Too bad I'm short on cash or I'll get the 2 - 100 watt plate amps on sale;

I'm not going to use any fancy wood. Maybe just 11/32" plywood or 1/2" MDF. If they sound decent, I'll add another layer of MDF. I'll also use all the braces Brian used in his box.
That 15" Aluminum woofer was created to mimic the bass kick drum. Playing with my equalizer last month I tried to find at what hertz the kick drum was located at. For rock. pop & jazz it was 65 hertz and hip-hop/disco it was 55 hertz. So I settled to make the box peak at 60 hertz.
How does it sound??
Hee Hee, Great. All genres came out sounding good.
