Default Dayton 10" Powered Sub Question

I ordered/received this sub and I had hoped to simply connect some homemade 4 Ohm satellite speakers to it but I get NO sound from the outputs.

Any ideas of what to check? Is the 4 Ohm rating the problem since this unit lists a high pass @125 Hz for 8 Ohms?

    Thanks!!

Are you feeding it a full range signal? I.e., are you running your speaker wires to the binding posts, and not using the subwoofer cable?

What input are you using on the sub? Only high level inputs pass the signal on to the satellites.

AHA! I am using the line level inputs. I ASSUMED the internal sub amp would also feed the satellites. In hindsight that would be a pretty sweet setup, eh?

I'll switch over to high level inputs.

    THANKS!!

Hmm. I have the line level coming out of my TV to the sub, then line out from the sub to a Sony AM/FM/Surround Sound receiver out to the satellites. Hence my desire to simplify the setup. I will run the line out from the TV to the receiver then high outs to the sub and high outs from sub to satellites.

Think that is the way to go?

    Thanks again for the help.
