Vented with active high pass, any clue?
In Bass Box 6 I found truly amazing FR for some Pro PA speakers, delivering what seems very deep responses and good phase, group delay, and other parameters, selecting: Vented with active 12db/oct high pass filter. Could someone give useful tips on this??? Thanx a lot.

Sounds like 6th order vented. This is very good for getting lots of bass out of small boxes. Needs a powerful amplifier because of the boost, similar to linkwitz transforms in this respect. You don't see this used a lot in DIY designs, probably because of the need for an auxiliary circuit and/or the lack of free tools for designing them. Some plate amps can be modified for the necessary boost, which makes it much easier.

Thank you Ron!, actually I'm following a trend to domesticate Pro gear that is very well built (but need big boxes to go down), to fulfill my conviction that the best approach to life like sound is through Hi efficiency and active multi amping. And don't misunderstand me, I mean HI-END...
