Titantic Sub hum
My Titantic subwoofer has a distinct hum when the receiver is in standby mode. As soon as the receiver is turned on the hum immediatly stops. This question probly has been answered before, but a search produced no results. I appreciate any responses. Thanks, Jack

When the receiver is off, the sub output is probably showing a high impedance, effectively 'disconnecting' the cable from a source. The cable is then acting somewhat like an antenna, probably picking up ac hum from nearby power cords, which then gets amplified by the sub amp. Just a thought, I've witnessed the same and it made no difference if the cable was disconnected. The only thing that made a difference was to reroute the cable to get it away from power cords.

Re: Titantic Sub hum *PIC*

If it is gum from a nearby cord, then try a cable supressor.. like PE 110-4501
