    Default Which Dayton tweet?

    Hey all:

Which Dayton tweeter works best with the DA175?

    The silkie

    or

    The new titanium domes?

    Default Coke or Pepsi?

If you are thinking a 2-way, you will want a tweeter that can cross under 2K and will likely find a high order filter to be best with the DA175. Of your choices, the silkie can cross lower, so it might be the better bet. As far as metal vs. textile domes, I think it depends on what you like. IMO, either can work well with aluminum woofers.

Funny this should come up tonight of all nights. I've just spent the last hour and a half assembling the crossovers for my throw-together DA175 and silkie project. Soldering tomorrow, I'm just too darn tired to trust myself with a hot iron right now. I will post more once I have listened to them and have done some tweaking. FWIW, I've been toying around with a stock PE 2.5 kHz crossover with the drivers and while it does absolutely require a better solution, it's not really sounding all that bad. I know it will be much better once the new crossovers are installed.

    Default 'Pepsi Vanilla' =-)

Is this a tweeter thread or a headphone(can) thread? Really, I'd try Shawn A's project when he finishes it. It sounds like a viable speaker.

    It's going to be a 2.5 way MTMWW using 4 DA175's and a X tweeter.
