Subwoofer poll

What is the best 12" subwoofer driver for under $100.00?
It will be mated to the PE 300-804 for his HT system.
I have been contracted to build my brothers sub and he's got short arms and deep pockets.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Ditto on the Dayton DVC12. But if $100 is deep pockets, then I must be LOADED and not even realize it! Sure you didn't mean $1000? Now that would be starting into deep pockets region.

Told him to buy a pre-built. Why expend the effort of building and not like the final product.
