    Default Suggestions Please...

I recently aquired a Marantz 2270 and would like to build a set or 3-way speakers to showcase it.

I don't want to use a sub with this setup so something that will go somewhat low will be needed.

I would prefer an existing design as I have no clue how to design a crossover from scratch, although I can read a schematic and construct an existing one.

Price range would be up to $1,000.00.

    Thank You.

Look at the Eton 8.2, 3 way design very nice. Or the Veritas both should be doable in your price range. The Eton will push your budget a bit, but it is worth it. Both could be driven nicely with your amp and give you that classic 3 way full range sound.

Take a look at the "Project Showcase", linked at the top of the main page of this discussion forum. There is one called "Veritas", designed a couple of years ago that has had a lot of good reviews. (Haven't done one myself)

All of the drivers for the Veritas are still available at Parts Express, but prices may have changed slightly. Wayne J also has his own website, linked from the project pages. You can probably get more detail info there, including a discussion forum of people who are familiar with his projects.

    Hope this helps.

Guess I should have provided more info. I have built the Veritas for the mains with my Denon 3803 HT setup. Very, nice. I was looking to build something different.

Would it be plausible to move the Veritas to the Marantz and then build an MTM or MT design for use with the sub on the HT system? My rears with the HT setup are the D3s.

    Default impressions of the Veritas?

Those of you that have built the Veritas, what are your impressions? Has anyone actually measured the response of this speaker? This is a project that I am considering, but would like more info before I build.
