    Default Dayton Titanic 10" *PIC*

I want to add some low end to my HDTV. My 48" JVC tv has a subwoofer out so I just want to add a subwoofer. My room is approximately 12' wide by 15-16' deep. My tv has decent sound for the built in speakers. I don't have a receiver, front or surround loudspeakers so for a while this is it. We watch concert dvds, movies, and audio cd's through the tv via xbox (1st gen). So, can I get away with using the Dayton MKIII Titanic 10" for my size room and it still sound good(Part Number 300-760)? I don't have alot of money so I'm hoping this is my best bet.

You can get a 12" Titanic for 20$ more, or even a 15" for 40. That room looks a little large for a 10".

Really your best bet would be to get the 15.
10 - Will play strong down to or so 38hz.
12 - Will play strong down to about 30hz
15 - Will nock pictures off the walls and sound really good for movies. With a 15 it will play notes low enoguh for you to feel. (Pick this for the THX responce)

If you don't have a reciever or any ither speakers, then hold up on a big high SPL sub. all that it'll do is over power the TV's sound and you'll have a big boomy sound, with no detail or clarity.

You need subwoofer amplifier too.Titanic 10"-minimum 240-250 Watts for moderate performance, unless you are talking about Titanic10"subwoofer kit.For the price of this kit you can buy entry level Brand name reciever 5.1 Dolby and DTS, whit small sub -sistem much better for your needs than a single sub .

    Good luck !
