OT. WOO-HOO...Maybe a new job..
After 17 years of drug abuse and "hanging around the wrong crowd" type of thing. All it took was for me to meet the right woman and a little church. It's been 1 year since i quit everything, minus caffine. No cigarettes, alcohol, or ANY illegal drugs. And now i should be available to start with a local Sheriff's dept. by june of this year. It was my childhood dream but the other thing interveened. So shall we say; Bad boy, bad boy, whatcha want, whatcha gonna do...Can't wait rant over, i'm just so glad. God bless, Ken.

Sorry it's spelled Intervened, typed fast. *NM*

Well how about that?!?
No sense in totally depriving oneself of everything. Caffeine is a must in my book especially when it involves any activity before 8 in the morning. Good luck and I hope it works out for ya.
BTW, how is the WinISD treating ya? Was wondering if you have it worked out yet. You can call anytime ya know.

Great to hear :)
Just don't pull me over, and we can still be friends
Have fun at the new job (I recommend watching Super Troopers )

Just remeber some of the excuses you hear when you pull someone over. You will have to post them hear. Ive heard some good ones to.

Re: OT. WOO-HOO...Maybe a new job..
Great to hear! Congrats! God can make amazing changes in people's lives, can't He?
Where you are, do they start out on the streets or in the jails?

Beware the 'trunk-monkey'...
He'll pop out of the trunk to bribe you, offer you a doughnut, or maybe even assault you. It's a car dealership commercial for one of our local shops.
Later, and God bless,

the cops keep all the good stuff *NM*

Now you can ticket those with crappy sound systems
If their system passes the listening test, they go free, BUT, if it sounds like crap, ticket time.
I hate sitting next a vehicle that sounds like they are about to toss their sub cones through the trunk lid. Is it the amp being pushed too far that I am hearing (massive clipping perhaps), or is it the subs being driven past max excursion?
-
Forgot to say Congrats
Not everyone gets to have their dream job, or a job/career they look forward to going to every day. I absolutely love being in the electronics field. Doesn't matter what I do, just as long as it deals with electronics.

It's usaully more of the over extention your hear but the amp usaualy also clipping. But it's more of the sub over extending. Depends on the system.

Re: Beware the 'trunk-monkey'...
Where are you located? If I'm ever in the neighborhood, I'd love to stop by and compliment 'em...
I like the chaperone one myself.

Wear a good vest. And wear it when you don't think you'll need it. If you don't have it on, that's probably when you'll need it.
Get one of those little Kel-Tec .380s or 9mms - makes a great pocket gun.
You'll spend more time with a pen and a keyboard than you with with adrenaline and your duty weapon. Practice with it anyway. If you've got choices, go with what points best without thinking. You won't need to think that way. Regardless of what the guy with the 20 round magazine in his hand says, learn to aim. One aimed shot beats the heck out of 20 misses.
Now let's be careful out there.

Kel-Tec is about 5 min from the house.

Bogie is my hero for the day
Bogie,
Is there anything better than guns and speakers? I am going to do 2 rounds of skeet tomorrow at lunch with a client. One round with my Citori 525 20ga. and one round with my new Citori Lighting 12ga.
I still have to get out and shoot the Olympic Arms AR-15 and H&K USP Tactical 45ACP that my Marine buddy left me. No, the AR-15 is not fully auto....I sure wish it was!
Keep em in the 10 ring and watch the clay turn to dust.

Okay. I need a recommendation then.
Thread hi-jack in full effect here. Wayne, Bogie or whomever: I am looking to get back into shooting and hopefully do some competitions of some sort in the future. I sold off all of my arsenal awhile back when I was living like a pauper so I'm in need of some feedback as to what's out there now as far as a quality rifle, pistol or shotgun. Right now I probably just need a decent rifle for some plinking around while I shake the rust off my skills. I've been shooting since I was 7 years old and now it's time to get back into the swing of things. So what should I be looking for as far as reputable brands? Thanks for any input and please e-mail me with your thoughts. No sense in sucking up PE's bandwidth on this any further.

Most likely both *NM*

Re: OT - Maybe someone else may wanna play...
Choice of the specific toy really depends on the game you're playing... The high power/civilian marksmanship program course of fire is completely different from silhouette shooting is completely different from benchrest... I shoot benchrest competitively, but sorta play at the others. For a centerfire bolt action rifle, it's hard to beat a Remington 700. I know a guy who deals used _accurized_ rifles for about what you'd pay new. If that's the way you're leaning, drop me a line, and I'll give you his contact info. He can ship to any federally licensed dealer, who will then arrange the transfer.

The dealer is in Ft Wayne, IN. Are these on the web? How did you see them? I think they're hilarious myself.
