Looking for suggestions on how best to distribute music to multiple locations, like using a selector for each zone [i.e. patio, living room. kitchen, etc..] thinking four to six zones will work.

Any idea's the best way(s) given the costs is appreciated.

The best route for you to go is probably with a speaker distribution box. This will allow you select different zones to have playing. The distribution center will cost you around $150 (cheap one) but is well worth it. The other thing you should highly consider is installing volume controls in each zone. This will allow you to set the volume of the main stereo then adjust accordingly. The volume controls can be expensive ($70+) but are well worth it. In my home I installed an A/B selector switch in some of the rooms. This would only be need if you had a separate system in a room and wanted the flexibility to play either the main system or local system through the same speakers. If you really want to go nuts you can install in wall remotes to run the main system from different rooms. This is a bit extreme but is a nice touch if the budget allows. I chose to use 2 different receivers, one for my HT, and the other for the house system. A 2 amp receivers provide another option. I am by no means an audiophile or an installer this is just my 2 cents.
