Default $10,000 and it comes with a Dayton Driver *PIC*

Just found this while reading some other boards around town. It's a cool design, all eminence drivers, and thats a Dayon Titanic Sub!!! around 10k seems a bit steep but I like that they include dayton parts!

I like the ladder line speaker wire, good for radio frequencies up 1000 mega hz.

If I was going to spend $10.000 on a pair of speakers they better have the end grain sealed, all of the drivers recesed,a consistant finish on the baffles, and not one square inch of Velcro, and that is just the asthetics. Also, hasnt that design already been patented years ago by another speaker manufacturer?

    Default Don't be so harsh

I mean come on, they're really only $9,800, so get your facts straight. Sure, if it was 10K then I could understand the grievences, but this is cleary a sub 10K system, so lighten up.

I'm not sure about the patent, but some of the more expensive B&W 3-ways that were offered by the audio store I worked at had the drivers in separate enclosures, and that was back in the mid to late 80's. But not anything like the huge gaps between the ones in the pic! I agree with the other post...inconsistent finish, exposed end-grain, no flush mounting, and those screws. Not even worth 1/4 of what they're asking, no matter how they sound. Just my opinion, of course.

Are the enclosures aluminum? Baffle included? Why do I see end grain? Veneer over aluminum, maybe? There was a guy at CES two years ago that had enclosures milled from a block of aluminum. I know how expensive that kind of equipment is, so that's probably why he, and these folks, are charging almost $10,000.

This guy used aluminum plate for all except the front baffles,I have seen that exact same type of enclosure on several websites thats why I am wondering what he is patenting? A.H.
