    Default woofer graph *PIC*

This is the graph of my actual woofer response. It's a dayton RS225(8" reference series). Do you think the breakup is attenuated enough?

I would say so. What's your slope/x-over point?

    It's second order, -6db at approx. 1000Hz.

Mark K did a two way using the RS225 8". He had to cross low, IIRC, 1200hz. This requires the best of the best from the RS28 and would require you to measure the harmonic distortion to make sure that particular one you bought can actually go down that low. I'm currently looking a tweeters that can go that low. I'm thinking of doing an MTM with the 8". I'm also thinking of using two of the RS270's in parallel for the lower end powered by a plate amp on each speaker. Not sure how it will turn out but the wheels are turning.

It's actually the bottom end of a three-way. I was wondering if the cone breakup around 5kHz was okay. I wanted to cross it lower, but the midrange I'm using has a huge peak between 500-1000Hz.

That slope looks more than adquate.
