Apologies in advance for a long post, this is half brainstorming for me- also looking for your suggestions.

So I have a big house party planned in the near future, and was wondering if anyone could recommend a resource for how to situate speakers indoors for the best sound coverage?

I have more than enough speakers and power to go around, and I am tempted to think that I should just put a speaker in every corner and a sub somewhere in the middle, but common sense isn't always the best thing to follow.

Most of these speakers are simply full-range, as in 100Hz and up, some better than others. My main sub would be a quattro 15/240w combo. I have the option of hanging some of the smaller speakers from the ceiling in places, and I even have some other 12" 2-way PA speakers with stands.

Also, this party will likely be taking place in a basement as well as on the main floor of the same house, so two different levels with music, and the possibilty of a third area outside (deck) with up to 3 different music sources being played simultaneously.

My biggest concerns are not how to achieve this technically, but how to position everything.

Here's a brief idea of how this will be setup:

- PowerMac G5 with iTunes as main music server
- 2 or 3 PowerMac G3's to play music from the G5 in each zone, each audio output connected to main mixer
- Behringer Europower PHM-3000 Main Mixer
- Monitor 1 / Monitor 2 outputs sent to separate QSC RMX2450 amps, Main Mix through built-in powered outs (this gives three discrete audio paths, although only one will be stereo), Mono out to subwoofer

I suppose a diagram of the general layout would be helpful, maybe I can post a drawing later.
