odd project, need a coax driver, help?
so here is the idea. Some time ago, i built some elcheapo speakers using the globe light covers from some old parking lot lights. these ones had some cheap car 6" coax drivers in them and they did ok for deck/bbq usage.
well, i came about some more of the globes, these are about .72 cuft and smoked acrylic globes with an aluminum mounting plate that can be modified to fit anything from a 4" to an 8" driver. I plan on putting a good (if there is such a thing) coax driver into them to make some nifty looking speakers. Due to their shape, i plan on painting these to look like giant eyeballs, the drivers being the pupil. so, anyone know of a reasonably priced coax that would like something .72 cuft or smaller? I thought of a full range driver, but all i can find is either to small to really use these enclosures well or too expensive to consider for a set of speakers that will most likely see out door usage.
any help is welcomed and thanks in advance!

P.S. if you happen to want some of these globes, i know of a cirten scrap yard that has an old van full of them.

For really inexpensive. Buy the Insignia speakers at BB and remove the coaxial drivers for your spheres -As a bonus you get have a extra pair of cheap enclosures for your next project. Danny at GR has a better crossover that you could recreate with PE componets.
Otherwise, Seas has a coaxial line, but they are not inexpensive.

those look better than the car stuff i have seen in the same price range, and the ohm load is better too. I am sure i could remove the white plastic thingy that holds the driver, not a bad idea! thanks, never thought of looking at the in-wall/ceiling stuff.
