    Default Battery/Inverter question

    Okay. I've got one inverter, and two 12 volt marine deep cycle batteries. Do I have to use 'em/charge 'em one at a time, or can I wire 'em so that I can use both at the same time?

    You have to charge them one at a time OR use a battery isolator (basically a pretty huge pair of diodes).

    can't you put the batteries in parallel and charge them at the same time?

    Yes you can, But, two batteries like capacitors are not equal. One will dominate the other until they both equalize over time. If they were bought at the same time than OK.

    Neat thing about inverters is the ohm's law.
    120v 1 amp = 12v 10 amps.
    10 amp hours and a 120 amp hour battery but you don't want to go below 70% and deep cycle batterys take longer to recharge because of the extra hard lead used equals about 3 hours of safe usage. Car batteries are made from soft lead, high cranking amps and quick recharge.
    neat links;
