Default Selenium D210Ti vs. Eminence PSD2002s

I'm working on a parts list for stage monitors. I'm having a hard time deciding between these two drivers. They will be crossed at 2.0 kHz with an Eminence Delta Pro-12A. Anybody out there who has experience with both of these who is willing to comment?

    Thanks,

    Mark

At 2.5kHz. These sound really good to me, and some have said the sonic character of the D210Ti isn't as nice for vocal range.

I agree, I use the DH200E exclusively in bass guitar cabinets. They sound great. However, for a stage monitor, don't overlook the ASD1001. It's not as efficient as either Selenium or the PSD, but it's very smooth, natural sounding and non-fatiguing.

A 1" coil driver isn't something I'd want to put in a stage monitor. Feedback squeals can take out a driver before you can reach for the slider on the EQ. Crossed at 2.5k and padded 8dB to match a typical 12" driver the DH200 is bullet proof enough to handle just about anything. And they are VERY smooth on the HM2525 horn (much more so than the 1725) out to 10KHz. Then it drops pretty steep, but for a monitor that's really what you want.

I'm not saying the DH200E wouldn't work well in a monitor. I was just pointing out that the ASD1001 is smoother and more natural sounding. I know people that are using them in their mains. The voice coil on the ASD1001 is actually 1.3". With a properly designed crossover and fusing (which I use on the DH200E as well), there should be no worries (unless you're using them for monitors in a metal band).

Mains are actually less subject to accident than monitors. A full power 2 KHz squeal still gets through a properly designed crossover. I'm sure the smaller VC driver actually sounds better.

    Ralf,

Do you use the Eminence fuse P.E.# 290-659 in your crossover? If so is, can you tell me who has a fuseholder to fit?

    Thanks,
    Mark

    Mark,

Actually I use chrysler dome lights, but the 290-659 will work fine. I've pasted a link below for the fuseholder. You will have to cut it in half for the fuse to fit.
