Default Connecting both CD and PC to SI amp???

Is there a cable that will allow me to connect my Sonic Impact amp to both my PC and a CD player? My CD player is a 100 disc changer. Thanks in advance!

You need a preamp or mixer of some type...
You could plug the CD changer into the computer via the line in, and then connect the computer line out to the amp. Select the source to be heard with the computers audio mixer.

    Default At the same time?

If you want to do that on the cheap, then you connect the PC and CD player both with a headphone jack cable that terminates on both ends with a 3.5mm stereo plug. Then you plug both of those into a Y-adaptor, used so that two people can use one headphone jack. Then you plug the other end (the single 3.5mm plug)into the T-Amp.

You probably could get away with a Y connector, they are both high impedence inputs so it might not be a problem.

You would have level problems, i.e. the CD player will be fixed level out, and you'ld only be able to control volume with the T-Amp's volume knob. While your PC would have the advantage of a local volume control turning the line level up and down. Maybe you can find a amp volume level that you'ld be happy with on both inputs.

Either will work, you just need to decide which is easiest, go line in to line out for the CD and have to switch sources in Windows, or possibly be adjusting the volume knob up and down for different inputs with the Y connector. Try 'em both!

    Default There's lots of ways.

You can also use the RCA outs of the CD can convert back to mini plug closer to the amp. The Y-adaptor will act as a mixer.

    Default Thanks ALL!

    Thanks all for your responses!

I have solved the problem by just using the CD player all by itself and will work on another project for my PC.... MANY THANKS!
