Those look pretty good! I see the HiVi tweeter and dome but what woofer are you using? And what in ways of an XO are you using?

The cabs are a bit small for the woofers I'm going to use, but I'm using the PE 15" classic. I bought a pair from a guy on this forum for a great price. My calcs say it will be a low of @ 28Hz, but that's ok. Crossing them at 900 and 3000. We'll see...

Thanks. I've used HiVi drivers before and I have been very surprised by how good they sound for the price. Thanks for the feedback!

Yes, i've heard the K1 in an MT i built awhile ago (before one of the woofers died) and it sounded very good. I'll be using them again for sure.

    Default Neato!

Ya know, I have an old pair of Sanyo 3-ways that have one roasted woofer voice coil (hehehe, that was fun) I should do the same thing with. Put a few bucks in drivers and new crossovers and they might be okay. Hmmm... what 12" woofer to use....

Probably those Dayton 12" classic ones I have to sell for $45 (for the pair-basically new)
Or maybe those old onkyo ones that are beat up that I have for $6 each + shipping for all of those of course...

I had a Fisher setup just like that. I remember that the woofer and mid speaker didn't have any crossover, the tweeter only had a single cap.

Your setup will sound so MUCH better...

P.S. The old drivers only had a low f3 of about 55hz

    Default Extra wood.

I agree with the extra brace. That looks like 3/4" particle board, or even 5/8" thick. I would also glue some more wood on the inside of the front baffle, around the woofer hole, so the screw have more to bite into, and the rear baffle, even on the rear. Making the walls thicker is cheap, and pays off.

They look great so far! I am glad the woofers are going to such a cool project. You should post some pics and impressions when you're all done.
