Default GR M-165x

Anybody used the new GR Research M-165x 7" driver with the XBL motor? Here's more info for those interested

I'm thinking of using a pair in a 2.5 way setup.

It is not really even out yet. Danny was at our DIY, and had some very neat omnidirectional speaker designs, but still is waiting on these to arrive from what I gathered. I too am looking at these. HTH

    Ryan,

Danny demoed a 2.5 way kit using a pair of these and his tweeter. The midwoofers were firing up mounted in the top of the cabinet. Very nice sounding solid bass and very clean and warm midrange. These were shown at the DIY event in Dallas that Blair referred to. It is my understanding that after he returns from the Rocky Mountain show these will be up on his website. Including a kit fot the system he showed. I think he said the kit price was around $450. I do not know what the driver prices are but definitely an exceptional driver.

Thanks for the info. Danny is back, he replied to my email today. I'm sure he's swamped after being out for awhile, so I'm being patient waiting to hear if they're available. On paper they do look like a fantastic driver, and a great new option for diy'ers.

The woofer shown is the new M-130X. I currently only have the samples that were sent. I am still waiting on production units.

I will have the new M-165X models here tomorrow.

    See some info here: http://www.audiocircle.com/circles/i...?topic=29813.0

    They will be $45. each.

Actually those just had our standard M-130 woofers in them. The one with the pair of woofers and the Neo3pdr are available for only $415 a pair, for the kit.

They were quite the hit at the RMAF.

Sorry Danny, I thought those were the new ones. Regardless quite an impressive design. Amazing bass for such a small woofer and the midrange was definitely to my taste. By far it was the best design I heard in Dallas. I am actually anxious to use this driver because the midrange clarity was so impressive.

So can we expect more from the new drivers? And by the way if it is $415 then it is just that much better of a deal. Thanks for attending our event in Dallas.

    Dave
