Troubleshooting
I screwed up and need your help.
I haven't spliced my coaxial cable properly as it continues to short out.
I am connecting a small coloured TV to my incoming wall cable connection. The wall cable is 100% OK.
Please advise the correct method of splicing the TV cable and inserting it securely into the new connector.
Thank you in advance.

Re: Troubleshooting
Fitting a F Connector (Screw on Type)
1. Cut the outer sleeve of the cable by one inch.
2. Pull the braiding (strands) back away from the end of the cable.
3. Cut the inter section of the cable by two thirds.
4. Screw the F connection onto the cable making sure that the braiding is away from the centre core of the cable.
Crimp connectors are basically the same, but you slide the barrel on the cable first, shove the connector completely on so it slides under the outer sleeve, trim the excess shield, slide the barrel over where the connector slid under the shiled, and crimp.
The trick in either case is to ensure none of the shield strands are caught/wrapped around the center conductor.
