Thread: Bummer.....

    Default Bummer.....

Guys, I just got the cab done for a HT sub I'm building, go to open the shipping boxes for the 3 Dayton 12" subs and all of them were shipped from the factory in substandard boxes with inadequate packaging - all 3 frames pushed through the sides of their factory boxes (but not the shipping boxes - no visible damage on the outside) - two are okay (minor paint blemishes) but one has a damaged rubber surround.

Mike V - it appears that this is a factory problem. How do I claim the damage? It's been about 50 days since I received them (been bldg the cab since then). I'll attach a pic of the damage and of the box it was factory packaged in if someone can tell me how to paste a pic into this post?

Bummer - I actually had time and the weather was cooperating to finish this sub this weekend - now I'll have to wait another week! The joys of DIY! LOL

I had the same problem several months ago with a DVC Dayton subwoofer....not a mar on the packing, no dents on the product box, but when I opened the product box, the 12" DVC woofer had a bent frame rim. Not a bad dent, but enough to make me return it. I contacted PE and told them, also informed them that it appeared that the product packaging was inadequate to prevent product damage in regular handling....and evidently haven't done anything to address the problem....as evidenced by your damaged products....all of the 12" woofers in Dayton Audio boxes are suspect....when you get them, open them up and check them immediately for damage.
    Sorry to hear about it.
The good thing.....PE sent me another one...that one arrived just fine.

    John
