Thread: new home

  1. #1

    Default new home

I am building a new home and want to pre-wire for a home entertainment center, including speakers (5) plasma 50" wall hung, dvd/cd and stereo audio. It will be about a 20'' run from the rack for the amp, and player units to the television. What cables would you recommend and what gauge wire? My goal is to have everything in the wall.

I agree, 16ga is probably plenty for home-theater and having the outer jacket is probably going to be required for it to meet code. But, I am not a house inspector, so make sure you find out what the rules are to meet code before you buy too much stuff.
