PT2 and DA-135 array
Now that I'm finished with my OT courses I'm going to actually have a positive bank balance soon. First thing on the list is finally building a line array. I saw an array a while back (probably 6 months or more) that used the Dayton PT2 and DA-135. I was hoping for more information on it.
If anyone has the design or any info on it would you please e-mail it to me or post it here?
Thank you!

Re: PT2 and DA-135 array
The question first of all is what kind of crossover are you going to use(?db/octave), and whether you're using passive or electronic.
Then, how many of each are you going to use.

Are these the ones???

Rudy,
I spotted these on another site a week or so ago and have been looking for an opportunity to ask you about them. I had never seen them before. Did you build these? What are the details? What were the results.

Probably on HTGuide..
They're 56" tall, 55" without feet. The reason I didn't make them 72" was I wanted them to fit in a huge stereo center my son had. After getting that big screen TV, well they were a little short. The vertical dispersion is lacking due to the planars.
They like it and are more than happy with them. They were my reference speakers for quite a long time until Pete came up with the TMWWWW's....
Here's the box dimensions;

With 4 windowed baffles between the 3-2-2-3 power tapering driver scheme..
They're also sealed enclosures with plenty of bass.
Lot's of room lift I guess.
I'll have to dig up that crossover. I can never seem to find it. Pretty much just 4th order LR with a little baffle step crossed at 2500 hz.

Re: PT2 and DA-135 array
Well I was going to do an outboard passive crossover so that if I do decide to buy active crossover equipment down the road I would be able to just plug it right it.
My original thought was to go with one 74" high with 16 DA-135's and 8 PT2's per side. Ported enclosure tunes to 48hz (winISD value). However, after reading that Rudy has a crossover already designed I may just build that set up, assuming Rudy doesn't mind :-).

Re: Do tell
If you find that crossover I'd really like to see it. I think this would be a great project and would fit in my basement perfectly!
Thanks

Well I found the uncleaned up version. I'll try and clean it up tonight and double check the frequency response in LspCad Demo;
<A HREF="http://www.ijdata.com/LspCAD_demo.html">http://www.ijdata.com/LspCAD_demo.html</A>
Ignore L5 R2 & R3 as they're used to balance out the extra drivers. LspCad demo can only model 2 drivers at a time and only in a 2-way xver.
I double checked my order from PE during the build time and the coils match. As for the caps I paralleled quite a few to get a balanced value.
The cap C6 across R4 was used to bring up the upper octave but I'm thinking 0.23 uF is a bit small, should be around 1.5 uF...
The parallel coils in the tweeter ckt. were 20 gauge. In the woofer ckt. they were 15 gauge.

Re: Do tell
Thank you very much! What is your overall impression of you array? Is there anything you would do differently?
Cheers
