Default Music Friday!

Two new ones I got today that may keep me to put away Veridian by the Greencards.(just for a little while)

First, Kronos Quartet, The Fountain, by Clint Mansell http://www.myspace.com/kronosquartet a lot more than the quartet, very moody and heavy. Looks like I gotta rent the movie now. Try the "Death Comes.."

Then, Joe Zawinul, ex of Weather Report has a new CD, double, very much Weather Report gone big band. Powerful, fast, sweet. http://www.cduniverse.com/search/xx/...366006/a/Brown+Street.htm. I have only finished one disc of it so far and these will flat energize whatever you are up to. Enjoy!

Default Ha, Big Band Weather Report

Now this I have to hear. It must be a Pastorius kind of day. I'll do some digging around when I get back from dinner. Thanks for the info, Biff.

Sadly, Mr P. is long gone from this world.

I got a short Zawinul band video from 2-3 years ago, and the guy is still smokin'. He's like 73 or something. Incredible energy.

I got into being interested in and playing the bass guitar after Jaco was beaten to death. The guy who encouraged me to take up the bass gave me a mental list of bassists I should listen to for ideas. Between listening to Mark King, Jaco, Les Claypoole and Stanley Clarke (that's a very very short part of the list I was given) I was torn between being very inspired and feeling very incapable of achieving such a level of ability. Right now, I'm the latter. If you don't use it, you do lose it so I'm starting back at square one, again.

I'm going through a process of remodeling my house and decorating it with my own eclectic tastes. I decided that the back wall of my second bedroom/listening room was going to be the album cover below. I just didn't know how I was going to do it. Luckily I found a program with a rather risqué name to do it for me. Now I'm chompin' at the bit to get going on that room first.

You can do it at home, at the office. Alone or even if you are entertaining company. I guess there's never a bad time to Rasterbate. Gee, what a great name. I think I'll find some great pics online and do some Rasterbation to 'em.
