Default Help - RS265HF Bass Bin for MTM

Any enclosure volume suggestions, sealed or vented, for the RS265HF to be used with a Scanspeak MTM? If vented, what size port? I want to use two bins, each using a single RS265HF. I already have the subs. Usage is 100% music only - ranging from rock, blues, jazz, classical to opera. Thanks in advance!

The sealed has an f3 of 40 Hz in 30 liters and a Qtc near .707. This driver doesn't really like vented alignments. -They can be done, but the port length is a killer.

The best vented alignment I could come up with was 60 liters tuned to 20 Hz. This required a 4" x 36" port, which is just doable, or a 3" x 19", which actually may be acceptable if you use flares and aim it out the back or at the floor. -The f3 is a very impressive 21 Hz, and may be the more worthwhile alignment.

For the best of both worlds: If you plug the vented enclosure, you get a sealed Qtc of just below .6.

Thanks Curt! That is where I ended up also. For my purposes, sealed seem the way to go. I wasn't sure if I was making a mistake with the port dimensions. Thanks for the sanity check! Sealed it is.

And forgo the obnoxiously long port.
