Default Scimitars are now at CurtC's *PIC*

I got the cabinets ready for drivers, and hauled them over to Curt's place for some cross-over magic. I figure that if there is anyone that can make this hodge-podge of drivers sound good, it would be the Supreme leader of the Church of Curtology.

    Wayne,

Those are gorgeous! I'm sure that Curt will make them sing. Interesting looking bunch of speakers in the background. :-)

There is another photo that has a really good shot of your speakers, along with Curt. I didn't want to post it without talking to you first. I will email it over to you.

Nice! I heard you used walnut veneer on them. Your edges go 45 degrees then another 45 degrees to make the edge, rather than one 90 degree. Did you fold the veneer from the front baffles over the full edge, or did you separately cut a piece of veneer specifically for the surface of the angle? Just wondering, because it does not seem like you could bend veneer like that without it cracking, but maybe I just do not understand the dynamics behind how to work with it.

The face plates are solid Walnut that is 3/4" thick. The sides are veneer.

Is it because of the camera angle, or are the cabinets raked back - sorta like this / ? I have enough trouble making my cabinets square, love the woodwork some of you guys pull off.

Yup, They are laid back at a 5 degree angle off vertical. Yup...a lot harder to build than square cabinets.
