    Default K1-Da135 project done "link"

Provided Link: heres the project write up

First off I have to say thanks to Shawn A. for posting the details of this project and then answering a few questions I had. Comments are encouraged. If you want the values of the crossover you will have to hit Shawn up, I cant seem to find them at the moment.

Very nice work! I like the bracing and removeable baffle. The laminate looks great, also! Great routering on the drivers. How do you like the sound?

Well thats a long story. At first I'm ****** because there is lots of distortion in both speakers. The first thing that goes through my mind is "I F*%^$ up the crossovers". So I unhook a speaker and drag it down stairs and try it on the other stereo-nice and clear. The distortion was presant using three different sources (cd, mp3 player & radio) so we can count that out too. Can't be the speaker wire, that came off of two differant spools. So that leaves three things the Amp the surge protector or the electric. I'll finish the trouble shooting later. Now to your real question. The speaker I had hooked up downstairs sounded good but I only had it hooked up for a couple of minutes so a complete test it was not.

Lookin' good, Doug. I'm about to build this project myself as it turns out. They'll be going to my buddys' house for their HT project to be used as surround speakers. The mains and CC will be MTMs with the DA135 and K1, for which I've got the crossover figured out well enough I guess.

It's kind of funny that you posted this today because I was over at their house today (they just returned from vacation) for some dinner and conversation about the HT. I told him about the TM I came up with and said the guy who was building them hadn't said anything recently. Must have been power of suggestion. I hope they turn out to your liking.

I don't have it here with me right now but I'll get it posted later on, after I get home from the office. I'll have it up no later than tomorrow night for sure.
