    Default Measuring Dayton Film Caps

I saw a question at another board asking why he couldn't get a reading on his meter while measuring Dayton film caps. I assumed he must be doing something wrong, so I hooked up my ESI Impedance meter and sure enough, I can't get a reading on larger value Dayton's. I did get a reading on .47uf but not 7 and 10 uf. Any ideas why?

I've been using the WT2 and the 390-545 DMM to measure caps and I've not had the first problem getting a reading on any value by any manufacturer. And FWIW the 5% Dayton poly caps I checked were well within tolerance and a vast majority were within 1% of the specified value. Not to burst anyone's bubble but I don't really see a huge need to spend the extra money on the 1% Dayton poly caps when the 5% are in the same league when it comes to spec tolerance.

Ditto, I've tested a bunch on a benchtop B&K LCR meter, and my B&K handheld here at home, so far not one dayton cap has been any worse than 3% off.

Default I don't even bother to test them anymore...

If I found one significantly off, the first thing I'd suspect would be the battery in my meter...
