Ever do this? *PIC*

Sh&t, I forgot to make the second pass over the reccess! The best possible solution and yet I laugh, wondering just how many of you have had to do the very same thing.

Who, me?
I found that if you punch the center out, the break pattern on the back makes repositioning a snap!

Rabbeting bits are your friends

Yeah, I've done that. However, it's often the case that the rabbet is a multiple of 1/8" wide, and in that case a rabbeting bit with a set of interchangeable bearings is all you need.
If you look at the instructions that come with the Jasper Jig, they recommend using a piece of double-faced tape spanning the cutout to hold the workpiece down. That lets you cut the entire circle (no punchouts), and it gives you a chance to recover from brain f@rts like finishing the trough hole before cutting the rabbet.
Ever cut the woofer hole using the tweeter center mark? The Jasper will get you out of that also. It's precise enough to cut a matching plug.
