AAAARRRRGGHHHHH!!!
Just got the parts I need to wire up the TMWWWW using the ND20-6, RS52, Quad DA175 . . . EXCEPT the .2mH inductor for the tweeter XO!! Doh! Out of stock.
You guys are building too many systems. Knock it off Wolf!!

Re: AAAARRRRGGHHHHH!!!
Hey Pete, that seems like a really intesting combination. I can't wait to get your feedback on how it sounds. I know the base will be good, and I suspect the midrange and tweeter combo will also sound excellent. This may turn out to be a really high end budget speaker.

Emergency order from Madisound or Meniscus?

That's the hope

Rudy Jakubin built a slightly different version last year and just raved and raved. He called his "Prisstina" because he felt the mids and highs were so pristine. I'm anxious to hear it myself. I think DougP is building a version as well.
This will be in Iowa in the fall, maybe Dayton too.

Backordered

I'll wait for PE to send me the part. I'll wire up the rest of the XOs anyway.
Now that I have the drivers on hand, I can spend time getting the baffles cut to perfection. Hopefully, by then, the part will be in.

I have too many projects to complete! I have to start pulling ahead. It helps to have external xovers, Pete. Then you can add/change parts later. I'm building the third pair since November last year! What's taking you soooo long? I hope you like the aesthetics of mine, as yours will be a while....
Later, and NEENER!!!

Here's the RS-180 version of said speaker with the first coat of black. Lot's of sanding and recoats left. This one will be ported.
Thanks again to Pete for the crossover work and for putting all the RS-180's I had from last year to good use. The same one's I had in the Dr. K's, Modulas, Natalie P's and Romans 2.5's...
Never did care for the bass. I know these will rock!

WOW!!
You do amaze me from time to time, Viperoni!
Keep it up, and hopefully, you can make Dayton this year, whenever it gets scheduled.

I sure wish I could see pictures here at work.
Can't wait to check them tonight when I get home Rudy.

Wrong Rudy, mang. You're thinking of Rudy Habara in Canada.

Temporarily put together XO?
Being new to the whole DIY thing, what exactly do you do when you want to make a XO readily changeable. It'd seem that the by time you twist all the components together, that it's pretty much set in that configuration.
I know its probably a silly question, but I just don't get it! =)
Thanks

Re: Temporarily put together XO?
I typically build each circuit i.e. the woofer and tweeter circuits in a two way, and then alligator clip them together. If I want to change things, I can do it readily, and after a while of tweaking different crossovers, you get a bit of a feel for what components you are likely to have to change. My favorite speakers to date still have alligator clips in the crossover, but mostly because I'm lazy

Re: AAAARRRRGGHHHHH!!!
Pete,
I've had a .25mH on backorder for about 5 weeks now!

Hey Rudy, what are you using to get the ND20 flush mounted?
I love the black look. Those drivers will just disappear on the baffle.

Yep!

I'm thinking I may mount the XO on the bottom of the cabinet, inside 2"-3" tall base, like Paul K's Tulines. I like that approach quite a bit.

So which alligator clips are sonically better? *NM*

Hopefully I ordered right before the whole lot comes in . . .

Re: So which alligator clips are sonically better?
Well,
Of course I only use alligator clips made from single run virgin 100% dead soft silver and the clips are cryo treated 100% rhodium hand selected by audiophile midgets with jewlers glasses for pristine finishing. You think I would want any less for my buyout drivers

A 1 3/4" Forstner bit. I thought I'd buy one in case I'll build another line array with them tweets.
Same bit I also used on the Prisstinas...
A really tight fit I have to say. You have to gently pound them in. I used some of the woofer sealer PE used to give you free with earlier orders.

Yeah! I put in some of the drivers temporarily just laying in the box. Really really a star wars look to them...
Back to sanding and another coat...

Re: Backordered
Pete,
I have a pair of 0.25 mH coils (255-214) still in the wrapper that I'll sell you. If you're coming to the tent sale tomorrow, I'll bring them with me.
