Hey Nick8675309... about those planars you bought
What exactly is their origin? I know you told me the retail price (which I think I forgot to tell Wolf, oops) but do you have any other specifics on them?

I got 2 different pairs.
I got a pair of RT2 Hi-Vi's which retail @ PE in the $80 range (so $160/pair new, mine where 10$)
and I got a pair of YAG-2s with metal faceplates, from an unknown origin.
They don't have the silly waveguide, and the faceplates are very heavy-duty.

Thanks for the memory refresher there. I was still in la-la land after you sent me those messages and totally forgot what exactly you had bought. I was just happy to get out of there with my XT25s hehehe.

I guess I didn't know what all stuff you hauled in... I would imagine the YAG he has are a sample of the "PT2C" That will be out shortly...

I don't know about that.
6.5" long, thick metal faceplate..
if Dayton where to launch them, it would be a pricey move into a higher-end market.

A PE employee (Carl?) was informing me about the new "PT2C", that they have improved the former planar, and are ready to release this new version. It's the same size as the others, but design is supposedly "improved". I don't see why what you have wouldn't be the newer unit proto. As for being "Silver-Flute" items, both the PT2A from PE and YAG-20 from MAD are the same driver. The PT2B was an improved design, but it is being replaced soon by an even better one.
Later,
Wolf
