Having a great day building and BLAMMO!
I was a few hours into a very productive day and I got a phone call from my mum. Seems she was busy getting dinner ready to put into the crock pot (mmmm roast) when she slipped in the kitchen. Three hours later we found out she had broken her right arm very near the shoulder. Very convenient seeing how she's right-handed. So they shot her up with morphine, put her arm in a sling, gave her some spacey pills and referred her to go see the orthopedic surgeon tomorrow morning. Which means that I'm playing taxi driver for the foreseeable future which subsequently means I have to be getting up quite early as well. That's all cool really because I'm in the zone on building stuff lately. Once she gets used to life having a bum wing for awhile it won't be so hectic but at least she didn't mess things up any worse. She's going to have enough fun at her job where she writes and works on a 'puter all day.
On the speaker side of life, I'm ready to glue the front baffles on sometime. I would have been to the point of listening to them for a bit and then getting stuff ready for veneer. I made quite a couple of those lemon momemts into lemonade when I screwed up a couple of measurements. Once I got back from the hospital not even measure thrice cut once worked for me but it worked out pretty well once I got back into the groove. These speakers will be done soon come hell or high water.

Re: Having a great day building and BLAMMO!
Sorry to hear about your Mom, Shawn. Broken bones are no fun at all. Hopefully she'll have a fast mend.
On other notes... Glad to see you got somethings done this weekend. I sure didn't.

Same here, Buddy! Hope she heals up fast. I have almost all the prep work done on a W69 Neo-sub testing. I have a port gluing in the $5 box I bought with it, and I have to patch the terminal hole and install a couple wires- then I'm good! On a side- note, I used sticky-backed "foamy" sheet to remake a cover for the plastic diaphragm, as it wasn't even a perfect fit before. I also realized that the former is aligned correctly, but the cone is tilted to one side. As long as it works, I could care less. =-)
I'll keep y'all posted...

First, I am very sorry for your mom and hope she gets better soon.
Second, does that mean next Sunday is off? Very understandable if so.
Take care, Dan

Well, I saying it's probably still a go

With her having worked at the local hospital for the past 30 years, she has enough friends who are nurses that she hangs out with regularly. They'll keep her in check . I'll know a lot more after she talks to the ortho doc. The attending physician at the E.R. went over a couple of possible options but qualified what he said by admitting he's no orthopedic surgeon. Very nice guy upon being forthright and honest. Once the course of treatment is plotted out, whether it's letting things heal on their own or going under the knife, I'll feel a lot better. Let's plan on still meeting up on Sunday. Place not yet determined but I'll figure something out before the weekend hits.

Sorry your Mom broke her arm. Good to hear she has a son that takes family care as a given.

Sorry to hear about your mom
OTOH, it could have been a lot worse. I know the taxi driver routine; years ago when my Dad had a kidney removed, I was escorting my Mom back and forth from the hospital to her house every day. Part of the time I was doing double duty; while my Dad was on the uro/renal floor, one of my best friends was upstairs in neuro recovering from surgery for a hemorrhagic stroke. Boy, was that a fun couple of weeks!
Your Mom's lucky to have a good son like you. I wish her a speedy recovery.
Best regards,
Bill
