Default Anyone tested this Radio Shack In wall

Provided Link: Accurian in-wall with linaeum monopole

Has anyone ever tested these in-walls? They sale price for $29 a piece. It has the Linaeum monopole tweeter which was highly rated in the old LSDG.

I'm wondering if the woofer is any good, and if there is potential for a X-over rework.

Default Where Did You Find Them For $29?

RS's website has them priced at $49.99 each. They look pretty decent for the price.

6.5" woof crossed at 5.5 kHz Hmmmm. Can you say "beaming cone break-up" 6 times in a row real fast?

Although I haven't heard this specific model, what Dennis said about the XO point would have me looking elsewhere, even at $30. Check out some of the comparable in-walls that Parts Express has...I've used the 6.5" and 5.25" 2-ways for some friends, which replaced some much-more-expensive Polks they had. Much better sound quality, with a smoother midrange and more defined high-end without being harsh or fatiguing.

They go on sale at the stores every so often. I always liked the tweeter back when you could get it as a separate item for DIY. I was wondering if they had any potential for modding like that Best Buy speaker everyone writes about.
