Default EP2500 vs. RMX2450 (link to pics)

    Provided Link: http://www.tomhole.com/Behringer%20EP2500%20vs%20Q

Following up on some earlier discussion, I found these pics someone else took showing a visual comparison of the two amps.

Draw your own conclusions, but most notable differences to me are the smaller transformer and more compact board layout on the Behringer.

Follow the link below to the pics.

I think there were more than one version of the EP2500. The new ones seem to have a bigger transformer.

Don't think so. My EP is new, has the same tranny as the one in the pics. The reason the one in the QSC is bigger is because it's dual primary (110/220), and the EP2500's is 110 only. They are both wound on the same core - the 900 VA from what used to be Amveco. I bought a buttload of 32-0-32's on that same core (with the same cute little symbol on them)and built amps out of them - with some requiring rewinding and others with as many as 3 in series :-). They only come in so many sizes, and the next one down is 600 VA, which is a totally different form factor. They use two of the 600 VA in the RMX5050 - they are taller and a lot smaller in diameter.

    Default Improved EP2500...

Is this true? Does anyone know what serial number the improved units began with?

Do you know the serial number at which the improved version began?
